November Minutes
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by President, Dave Root, at Allegan Pizza Parlor.

Attendance:  Dave Root, Teresa Creech, Bill Creech, Missy Root, Lori Drozd, Kim Hays
           Special Guest: Richard Centala

The minutes from the October meeting were presented.  A motion was made by Lori Drozd to
accept the minutes as presented.  Seconded by Bill Creech.  Motion carried.

First on the agenda was the spring season for ACES.  Dave Root stated that a Fennville boy’s team
might be interested; he will also check into deadlines.

Discussion was had about finding a coach for the Allegan High School boy’s team to play ACES in
the spring.  Names thrown around were Rick Locatis and Stuart Pickin.  At the boy’s soccer
banquet, Mr. Evans, the High School soccer coach, will be asking interested boys to contact him.

Teresa Creech will check with Athletic Director Gary Ellis about using the Middle School soccer
field as our “home field.”  She will also check into availability of the Middle School gym for
inclement weather during early spring practices.

The Kalamazoo Kingdom teams that are playing under ACES paid ACES $410 for 41 kids for the
use of the Allegan Sports Complex.  Do we want to allow Kingdom to play under ACES in the
spring?  T. Creech made a motion to allow Kingdom to continue in the spring; seconded by Missy
Root.  Motion passed.

Indoor soccer was next on the agenda.  We will be wearing orange/black uniforms instead of the
Red/white ACES uniforms.  Not every indoor player has an ACES uniform.  Do we charge our
ACES players to play at the Kingdom for the first session?  Discussion was had.  T. Creech mad a
motion to charge $20/player for indoor fee and reevaluate if we do any more sessions or if fees re
imposed by Kingdom.  Currently, Kingdom is not charging ACES to play indoor soccer (saving us
$675).  No second was made.  Motion failed.

Next, we discussed holding a spring tournament as a fundraiser.  D. Root and M. Root will
investigate further into date and type of format.

D. Root made the board aware that we will be competing with AYSO’s “Hawaii” team concerning
fundraising in the spring.  We must be respectful of the situation and make sure we clearly identify
ourselves as ACES competitive soccer club members.

Our next fundraiser will be a Pop Can Drive November 30, 2007, at Village Market, from 10 a.m. – 2
p.m.  T. Creech will provide a “business card like” informational hand out to give to donors.

We have empty board positions that we need to fill.  Please give some thought to this and how we
can encourage participation on the board from our parents.  D. Root will send Rich Centala the
bylaws so he can review the “Job Descriptions.”

The December board meeting will be Friday, November 30, 2007, at the Pizza Parlor at 6:00.

A motion to adjourn was made by B. Creech, seconded by T. Creech; meeting adjourned at 7:30.
