| May minutes |
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by President, Dave Root, at Allegan Pizza Parlor.
Attendance: Dave Root, Teresa Creech, Bill Creech, Kim Hays, Missy Root
Absent was Lori Drozd. Deb Jennings sent email that she would also be absent.
Secretary’s report was presented by Teresa Creech. The minutes from the April 2
meeting were presented. A motion was made by Missy Root to accept the minutes as
presented. Seconded by T. Creech; motion carried.
Deb Jennings has requested to be removed from the board. She stated she has too
much going on to give adequate attention to ACES. T. Creech said she would
discuss with Jennings if she wanted to quit altogether, or if she would like some time
off.
Discussion was had regarding the purchase of a copy of Robert’s Rules of Order. T.
Creech found we could purchase a copy for under $15. A motion was made by Bill
Creech to purchase a copy of Robert’s Rules of Order spending $15 or less.
Seconded by M. Root; motioned carried.
Tryout dates were set: June 16th beginning at 10:00 am, and June 19th beginning at
6:00. Rain date will be June 21st. Tryouts will be at the Sports Complex in Allegan.
Discussion was had concerning advertising for tryouts. A motion was made by M.
Root to purchase a vinyl reusable sign made by Universal Signs in Otsego, for $50.
We will also pay for two ads in the Allegan County News for around $70; Seconded by
Hays; motion carried. Also, Jerry (Pizza Parlor) is allowing us to post our tryout
information on the side of his building next to Fifth Third. Another form of advertising
will be asking for an announcement to be read at the Middle School in Allegan and
other area schools. Flyers will be placed on the counters for students to pick up. B.
Creech offered to re-do a wooden work sign with tryout information, to place at the
Complex.
A tournament meeting followed this board meeting.
The next board meeting will be Monday, June 4, at 6:00 p.m. at the Pizza Parlor.
A motion was made by B. Creech to adjourn, seconded by Hays. Meeting adjourned
at 7:10 p.m.
