Meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m. by V.P. Deb Jennings, at Allegan Pizza Parlor.
Attendance: Dave Root, Deb Jennings, Teresa Creech, Lori Drozd, Bill Creech,
Kim Hays
Missy Root sent word she was ill and wouldn’t be able to attend.
Treasurer’s report was presented by Lori Drozd. Drozd stated that she opened a
checking account with a $100 personal donation, at National City in Allegan. After
depositing $552.50 from the can drive, the total stands at $652.50. Discussion
followed concerning whether a “checks & balance” procedure should be
implemented. Deb Jennings made a motion to add Dave Root, President, and Teresa
Creech, Secretary, to the signature card at the bank, and use the official address of
the club, 2063 27th St., Allegan, as the mailing address for the bank statement. Kim
Hays seconded. Motion carried. Drozd will also check into the cost of bonding
insurance. Drozd wanted to make sure that all members were keeping track of miles
driven and “in kind” donations which could be applied to future tax returns.
Secretary’s report was presented by T. Creech. The minutes from the January 24th
meeting and the special meeting held on February 19th were presented. A motion
was made by Drozd to approve the minutes, seconded by Jennings. Motion carried. A
change was made to the January minutes prior to posting on the ACES website:
remove the sentence containing a work email for Root. T. Creech will also check the
City’s website to see if anyone is updating and if ACES info can be posted.
Kim Hays volunteered as the Parent Liaison.
Bill Creech gave a presentation on the new ACES website. A few suggestions were
discussed and some changes will be made. The website will be online by the
weekend. B. Creech stated that the Creech family will donate the first three months
cost for the website, $5.98/month, through June. The board will re-evaluate
absorbing the cost after June.
A press release will be issued by T. Creech stating the pop can drive was a success
and thanking the community and Village Market. T. Creech will also create more
business cards for distribution of marketing for ACES. Info suggested for the cards:
website, mailing address, contacts, logo and email address.
Jennings made a motion to market the tournament fundraiser as an “invitational”;
seconded by Drozd. Motion carried. “ACES Spring Showdown” will be held June 1, 2
and 3. Divisions to be included will be U10, U12, U14 and U16 both co-ed and girls.
The fees were established for the tournament as follows: Early registration post
marked or received by May 4th, will cost $200; May 5 thru May 18th $250, with
registration closing May 18th. A fee of $150 will be charged for each team that does
not provide a referee for a minimum of 3 games. T. Creech volunteered as
Tournament Director. Jennings will contact City tomorrow (Friday) confirming June
dates. Root will finalize tournament packet. T. Creech will contact Serigraphics Plus
for a tournament t-shirt design.
Hays made a motion that ACES team colors will be burgundy for dark and grey for
light. Jennings seconded, motioned carried.
The next meeting will be Monday, April 2nd, at 6:00, at Allegan Pizza Parlor.
A motion was made to adjourn by T. Creech, seconded by Jennings. Meeting
adjourned at 8:00.
